Most of the windows in QuickBooks Desktop are opened and displayed using Internet Explorer. We can try setting up your Internet Explorer (IE) to be sure it won’t happen again. Make sure to set IE as the default browser first.

Learn how to fix the QuickBooks script error by following the below steps:

Method 1:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Select Tools from the Command Bar.
  3. Select the Security tab after choosing Internet Options.

  5. Enter *.intuit.com and *.Quickbooks.com in the Add this website to the zone section and click Add.
  6. Uncheck the box next to Require server verification in the Trusted sites window.
  7. Enable Protected Mode should not be checked, therefore close the Trusted sites window.
  8. Shut off the browser.

Note: Your company file ought to open correctly. To confirm that this approach has been successful, it is advised that you log out of the company file and then log back in.

Method 2:
Typically, you can simply click ‘No,’ and QuickBooks should proceed opening your company file as normal.

If this method does not work and you need an alternative method, try one of the methods described below:

  2. At the No Company Open screen, hold down the Alt key on your keyboard and double-click on the file you want to open.
  3. Release the Alt key when you are prompted for your credentials. Enter them, then hold down the Alt key as you click Open. Keep holding the Alt key until the file has completely opened!
  4. Your file should open properly. It is recommended that you log out of the company file and then log back in to double-check that this method has worked.

b. If you’re the only QuickBooks user

  1. Close out of QuickBooks completely if it is open.
  2. Press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard while double-clicking on QuickBooks to launch it. Keep holding the Ctrl key until you see the No Company Open screen!
