To edit the display name, type a name in the Name box while choosing the Outlook Data File (.pst) in Step 4, then click Apply.

Note: A file’s display name is unaffected by renaming it. Only the name that appears in the Navigation Pane is altered.

If an Outlook Data File (.pst) is no longer frequently used, it can be closed. A closed file is not deleted, but it is no longer visible in the Navigation Panel.

NOTE: If the Close command is not available, you are most likely attempting to delete the default Outlook Data File (.pst) file used to save new messages.
