International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8th March every year to honor the social, cultural, political, and economic achievements of women around the world. It is also celebrated to raise awareness against bias and help shape a gender-equal society.
While many women are still facing challenges around the world, some have set great examples for others to follow. Hearing successful women share their personal experiences and advice is the best way to keep ourselves motivated.
Therefore, this International Women’s Day, Ace Cloud Hosting reached out to some amazing women leaders who’ll inspire us with their incredible stories that’ll help us keep going forward, no matter what.

Women in the workplace still face inequality – we know that. Since stepping into senior leadership roles over 8 years ago, I have always been in the gender minority and as the field of Customer Experience can be perceived by some as ‘fluffy’ and ‘nice to have’, it has meant I’ve had to work twice as hard to build a solid reputation. That isn’t to say I haven’t had male allies – I have. Hence, women in CX, in particular, need perseverance and resilience in their artillery!

Do not judge yourself by the opinions or standards of others, for that will lead to angst. Instead, judge yourself by whether you met your own highest standards and values. Did you do your best today? Did you show up 1000%? Are you proud of what you achieved and how you achieved it? That is the path to success and fulfilling life.

Success isn’t about how much money you make, your title, or your role.
It’s about making a difference in other people’s lives and shining a light on their achievements.

Don’t be discouraged. Nothing valuable has been created in a short period of time. Be consistent, do your best and have patience. It takes years to prepare for your overnight success.

As a leader, I try to remember that self-care is the most important thing I can do for my teams. Much like the airline’s instruction to secure your own oxygen mask before helping others, making sure I am strong, both physically and mentally, ensures I can be there for them when needed. Too often I believe we sacrifice our time, our balance, our needs, thinking that we are doing what is best. But if we burn out, there’s no one left to lead.

VP Marketing, Go Nimbly
From a very young age, I never had traditional answers for people’s questions. What, in the beginning, was an embarrassment in its purest form, pushed me to be an outstanding listener.
I forced myself to let go of the need of an answer before the person would finish the thought. That’s when the real understanding of people’s perspectives became a huge part of my life.

Director of Marketing and Influencer Strategy, Liscio
On International Women’s Day, we normally focus on women who have made headlines, but this year I want to give a shout-out to every woman. After a year of intense juggling, many are exhausted, and we need to support each other now more than ever. We will succeed by sticking together and cheering each other on in the way that only women can. Personally, I am dedicated to supporting and elevating women in accounting because of the incredible impact they make.

As women in business, we are constantly confronted with the glass ceiling. When I first got started in my career as a retail writer, I was the publishing editor of a small tradeshow rag. I had vendors say things to me at tradeshows that most people couldn’t even conceive of. From this experience, I learned how to set boundaries without personally taking on the burden of other’s unprofessionalism. Today, I know my boundaries and how to enforce them without bogging myself down in the process. This gives me more energy to devote to my work and enables me to find much more joy in the day-to-day tasks of running a content business.
Conclusion
With this year’s official International Women’s Day theme as #ChooseToChallenge, let us all choose to call out inequality. Let’s celebrate women’s achievements and encourage the women around us.
